Australian Merino has a much greater capacity to absorb moisture vapour than most textiles, hence it's excellent breathability. Water repellent but moisture absorbent - Merino's surface is hydrophobic, which means it repels water. Consequently, after a big shower, water will tend to bud on the surface of a Merino garment and can be brushed off. However, the merino fibre has a capacity to absorb moisture vapor.
Odour control - Body odour arises as a by-product of bacteria, which proliferates in warm, moist environments. Because of its ability to wick moisture away from the body, merino fibre is able to resist the development of proliferation of odour.
